This past week I spotted a * Groupon offer for Arrowhead Orchards (Paris, Ohio near East Canton) – $12 (value $25) for an apple outing for a family of 4 which includes a hayride through the apples orchards on your way to the pumpkin patch, a large corn maze, and 5 pounds of apples. [That deal ended, by the way]. BUT, the regular price to enjoy everything (corn maze, hayride, play ground, haybales) is only $5 per person, kids under 2 FREE. Anything from the pumpkins to the apples inside the market you pay separately.
They also have a pretty cool playground.
You don’t get to pick your own apples here but they are bagged, weighed and ready for you to pick up in their market located on the grounds.
Pumpkins are priced between $1 and $12 each. We picked out a few nice one’s from the patch for about $1-$2 each (pay for those separately).
This was our first time to Arrowhead Orchards. The sky was beautiful, the sun was hot (I was expecting temps in the 60′s, maybe 70′s). As my son and I were trying to find our way out of being lost in the corn maze it began to rain. I knew those clouds looked suspicious.
Oh well. I honestly didn’t mind. It was a nice relief after the hot sun (and me wearing a black long sleeved t-shirt). I suggest wearing short sleeves and just taking a hoody or sweater unless the weather is going to be clearly cold.
September 24 – October 23, 2011 (Saturday and Sundays ONLY) you can visit Arrowhead Orchard for some fun times. Hours for the fun we had today are 12-5pm.
Visit their website for all the details and take CASH or CHECK (as of today they were not taking credit cards but that may change very soon). Their Market is open based on a different schedule.
This short video I took yesterday will show you some of the highlights of our visit, including the pipe slide, hayride, and corn maze. I didn’t get the hay bale mountain or the hay maze on video.
Trying to keep the main thing, the main thing - in the midst of my busy life. I work from home and as a Classical Conversations tutor so I can stay at home and homeschool my boys. I also write for free coffee and use these :) - alot!
My husband has twice suggested, and I'm finally saying 'yes' to a Donate button. If my blog has been a blessing to you and you'd like to be a blessing back you can now...
Any gifts just help us cover expenses, homeschooling needs, or a good cup of COFFEE! Thank you.
