My son’s shoes.

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Monday, 19 October, 2009

I’m continually amazed that one child can blow holes in the knees of his jeans and rip new shoes in a matter of weeks. Yes, he is my firstborn so I am still not “over this”.  I noticed this change in him around the beginning of 2009…he was 4 going on 5 years of age.  This fall I ordered a new pair of nice looking dressy/casual boot-like shoes  from The Children’s Place for school. Do you know that child would have ripped them within a few weeks time?  Glad I got a good deal on them!

So, about a couple weeks ago I ordered two more pairs of new shoes for him from The Children’s Place. I think it will be harder to tear these up.  And…I got a really good deal on them too! I’m not sweating the tore up shoes – I’m a frugal buyer. Yes I got new shoes, online, from The Children’s Place both times. But I bought all these shoes on sale and had an exra % off due to coupon codes AND bought them through my Cashbaq or Ebates accounts where I earn money back from my purchases. See how you can earn a $5 bonus just for signing up! Its free anyways, why not?!

These websites are free to register, free to use. You just sign in to your account, pick your store (ex: The Children’s Place) and then purchase.  Its another smart way to shop for the things you need.

And don’t forget to look for coupon codes before you purchase.  Check www.RetailMeNot.com for available codes. I’m on the mailing list for The Children’s Place so I got a coupon code in the mail for an extra 20% off my purchase – which was already items on sale. And shipping at The Children’s Place is only $5. My 20% off brought me an extra $6 or more off my bill and the shoes were already marked down to begin with.

You can keep up with whats going on via email or RSS and be my friend on Twitter and Facebook!

Why you should be using promotional items.

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Saturday, 12 September, 2009

I haven’t really needed promo items or so I thought and most of what I do on this website is free or pretty cheap so I don’t have much money to spend on that kind of stuff anyways. Well, after years of getting these Vista Print emails for free business cards I decided to try them out. Why not. So I picked out a look and paid my shipping. After I became an “insider” I got an offer I couldn’t refuse again.

They called it “giving away the farm”. All kinds of free stuff for your business and you only paid the shipping. I got a t-shirt, a pen, lots of post cards, rack cards, fridge magnets,  address labels, window decal and car magnet…for free. And I think there were other things too that I just didn’t want at the time. Cost me less than $20 for shipping. I am impressed. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the fridge magnets but that may have been due to the design I picked. But overall, it was worth the $19 and change I paid.

Did I need this stuff? Do you?

Thats the big question, right? Well, it just so happens that yes, I do and you probably do to. It occurred to me that with Expos, craft shows, fairs, etc it would be worthwhile for me to have these items to hand out to the work from home women I would meet at these shows.

Halloween. If you pass out candy to the trick or treaters you can attach your biz card to packages of candy or hand them to the mom’s leading the troups around the neighborhood. Thanks to Heather at Freebies4Mom.com for sharing that tip!

Ebay & Trade Groups. I sell on Ebay on occasion and I’m part of an all woman trade group. That means I ship. I can stick my promo’s in the mail with the items I ship.

Gift baskets. If you do any of these for friends or family, you might want to stick something useful in there that just happens to have your company info on it.

The Lil Lambs Closet charity sale uses promotion items, churches use promotional items, bloggers use them and so on.  These are just a few ways to use your promo items and get word out about your business, blog or whatever you are promoting!

Got me some money!

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Friday, 16 January, 2009

I’m so excited when I save so much money! I’m sharing a letter with you that I put on our family blog to tell my mom and sisters/sis’n'laws about my great deals these past few weeks!!

HA! Made you look! :)
But really, I’ve received my Walgreens and RiteAid rebate checks and gift cards…yippie! A few weeks ago I had rec’d one of them but within the last week or so I think I got all the rest I was due for this past rebate period.

Aprx. $5 check
another $5 check
A… $10 gift certificate
A… $11.oo gift card
A… $2.20 gift card and all that plus what I saved about a week ago…get this.

Walgreens was offering …spend $20 on selected vitamins for the family (including Flintstones) and get $10 back immediated in a coupon for basically anything in the store at your next visit. My kids use Flintstones, plus I had a coupon for $1 PLUS all the vitamins I got I think were on sale too, so…got 2 boxes of Flintstones, one box of mens vita and one box of womens vitas…spent about $23 on them…got my $10 register rewards (?) coupon. Then…days later, Walgreens had a
B1G1 free on selected house cleaners… so I made a trip to use my $10 coupon, some other manufacturer coupons for the same items and some Walgreens coupons that come in the weekly flyer and got…

2 bottles of Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner
2 Windex products (a spray and a can of wipes)
a can of OUST Air Sanitizer & a caniser of Scrubbing Bubbles Wipes
2 small bottles of dishsoap
bag of chips (Joel called me while at the store to p/u a bag)
a jar of Noxzema…and after all coupons…I paid $7.24 BUT it gets better. I had found an offer in the coupon pages (probably from the Sunday paper)…offering to reimburse you for trying a Windex product up to something like $4.50…I paid $3.79 for the one Windex item I paid for (the other was free)…so I filled it out and sent off to get my $3.79 back…which after rec’d will mean I spent about $3.50 for everything!!

And- BTW…some of what I learned I think I actually learned after reading Refundcents…and today is the first day of a 3 day FREE TRIAL for visitors (then on Monday you have to pay to read it)…its worth it..and she is offering a one month extra free if you get your choice of two subscription options…I think one of them is online only and is like $1 a month, which I think Allie gets. I will probably renew at that as well when my subscription ends. Here’s the link to check it out for free…if you decide to go for it, will you be sure to click through my link when you go to subscribe so I get credit for telling you about it?

Refund Cents

Thanks!
Tracy

Holiday Shopping: More cash back and money savers.

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Saturday, 29 November, 2008

There’s a few things I want to share with you to save you money this holiday shopping season.

First, I wanted to tell you about Ebates, a shopping site that gives you up to 26% Cash Back every time you shop online. You can shop at over 1000 stores including Barnes & Noble.com, Gap, Target, Buy.com and Expedia. Plus you get additional savings with exclusive coupons, free shipping offers, and limited-time sales!

Sign up with Ebates today and we’ll each get a $5 bonus when you make your first purchase!

Second, a reminder perhaps that I’m offering an extra 15% off with coupon code 120815 on anything in my store www.HallofFameProducts.com . Thousands of gift ideas for everyone on your list I should think.

Third, look up “coupon codes” online and see where else you can save. Did I tell you that I have “heard” that Kmart is offering double coupons on November 30th? Now, I don’t know how long that offer is going on or in what areas so watch your newspaper ads. I went online to check but didn’t find an ad for it but a friend of mine found out online and I did find some info about it at www.slickdeals.net.

Happy Bargain Hunting!
