Rayovac Review and Giveaway *11 Winners to be chosen!

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Monday, 16 August, 2010

I know this is the giveaway a bunch of you have been waiting for and it will be well worth the wait. I have used and used my Rayovac Platinum Batteries and charger as we’ve taken trips to Geauga Lake’s Wild Water Kingdom where I took video and pictures and my batteries lasted for our 5 hr or so day. I took it to the Akron Zoo and took lots of pictures there. And then everything in between.

The Rayovac Platinum Rechargeable batteries charge 3x faster vs. the Rayovac Easy Charger and takes up to 16x more digital photos.

The only rechargeable batteries I’ve ever bought along with the charger has been Kodak’s and they left me very disappointed a long time ago.

So besides the fact that they last longer/ take more pictures, and charge up in less than an hour let me tell you what else I LOVE about this product…

No cords or taking up counter space! {Yay, Me!}

Enter to win 1 of 11 of these babies!

Do ANY or ALL of the Following. Each counts as a separate entry as long as you have put each one in a separate comment here at this post. Remember you have to confirm all the way through for my email/Rss updates if you choose that one (watch for Feedburner’s email to you.) If you’ve already done any or all of these, be sure to mention so – each one in a separate comment here at this post so you get credit for each entry!

EXPIRED. National Geographic Kids 2011 Almanac Review/Giveaway

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Saturday, 7 August, 2010

A few weeks ago I received the National Geographic Kids 2011 Almanac *for free so that I could review it on my blog.

The 2011 Almanac is just the right size for kids (9″x6″) to carry and hold by hand or fit in Mom’s purse or a backpack.  Its  a  glossy paperback, thick with 351 pages, and full of color and fascinating facts and information. The contents are divided among such topics as Your World 2011, Amazing Animals, Going Green, Super Science, Geography Rocks, History Happens, Culture Connection, Awesome Adventure, Wonders of Nature and Future World. There are games and NG’s virtual pet, Zipper the dog,  alerts the reader to websites to help you learn more.

As a homeschooling mom I think this will be a nice tool in our educational planning. If my boys see something in there that gets their attention we can incorporate it into our studies. Which brings me to the following point. We are a bible believing/teaching family  and we stand firm on that fact that God created the world and all things therein. Of course I don’t expect the almanac to represent our biblical world view but thought I should mention that it does teach things we don’t believe in. HOWEVER, that in and of itself brings about another type of  teachable opportunity in our home.

Besides being filled with beautiful, very colorful pages and lots and lots of information the 2011 Almanac has games and activities inside!

Did you know there are 4 types of essays? Need help writing the perfect essay? The almanac will tells you what they are and how to do it in 6 steps. I like that they have information in bite sized pieces. Want to know “5 Cool Things About Elephants” , how about bats? What are “5 Things You Ought To Know About Owls”? Do you know how to tell a cat by its spots?  This and so much more is in this book!

One of you will win a copy of the National Geographic Kids 2011 Almanac for your family!

Lisa, a multi-tasking/working mama, sells Organo Gold coffee and tea and sent me the Mocha to try.

It was DELISH!

EXPIRED. Crayola Color Wonders Review and Giveaway!

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Saturday, 31 July, 2010

My family had the pleasure to partake in a review opportunity for Crayola Color Wonders through Crayola and MyBlogSpark recently. I don’t know who was more excited me, or the boys ;)

We received a box in the mail and inside contained 5 kits/packages from the Crayola  Mess-Free Color Wonder series! We received…

  • The Lap Desk that came with 5 mini markers and 12 peel and stick pages.
  • The Fingerpaints and paper.
  • The Stow & Go Studio also came with 4 mini markers and 12 page Color Wonder Activity Book
  • The Story Stampers Activity Set that came with 5 markers,  6 stampers, and 18 page coloring pad and 1 stamp pad.
  • The Markers & Paper…24 page drawing pad and 5 markers.

By the way, these aren’t ordinary markers or pages. These are like magic. The tips of the marker, the stamp pad and the fingerpaints are all like a clear/translucent kind of color and when applied to the magic paper things appear before your eyes. Its really neat and think of this…no marker color on your carpet or carseats.

I am THRILLED they gave us the lap desk and the stow and go since I happen to have two young boys who enjoy coloring and drawing. Now when we are on a road trip they both have something supportive to color on  in the car. Though for some reason in the video below  at this particular time  Brendan wasn’t using either of them.  But you’ll see how easy it was for him to color in the car anyways.

Now one of YOU will win all 5 kits as well!  Here’s how to enter…

REQUIRED: Leave a comment here at this post telling me why you would love to win a Crayola Color Wonder “summer fun kit”!  Thats it and you are entered!

Here’s what to do if you want EXTRA ENTRIES! You can do all of the following to have up to 4 chances total to win this great prize pack! Remember, if you are currently, already doing any of the following, just leave a comment telling me so.   Just leave a separate comment here for each one you do! But the extra entries do NOT count unless you’ve done the REQUIRED step mentioned above!

  1. “Like” Crayola’s Facebook page and (a) leave them a comment there telling them Hall of Fame Moms.com sent you AND  (b) then come back to this post and leave me a comment telling me you did that! Click here to do that.
  2. Subscribe for Hall of Fame Moms email or RSS updates and leave a comment here telling me you have done that or already were subscribed.
  3. Tweet about this giveaway using this shortlink and hashtag- just copy and paste the following into your Twitter update box: Enter to win Crayola’s Color Wonders summer fun pack! http://bit.ly/der0NY #mbsspark    and then leave a comment here at this post telling me you did that. I will be checking so be sure to tell me your Twitter id as well.

Contest begins today July 31 and ends August 13th at 11:59pm. One winner will be selected by Random.org.

Posted by Tracy Zdelar on Monday, 19 July, 2010

My blog was chosen to participate in the Breyer’s Smooth & Dreamy ice cream Blog Tour Review & Giveaway…yay! What this means for my family and for 4 of your’s  (sorry, I thought I was going to get 5 to giveaway but I only received 4) is one free box of Smooth & Dreamy of  your choice ;)

I received a full value coupon to go pick out a box of Breyer’s Smooth & Dreamy to try for this review. To be honest I was leaning towards the cookie dough ice cream sandwiches but my son wanted something else. So  this is what we picked up…

Notice they say “Extra Creamy” at the top and if you can read it the box says “Trip Chocolate Chip”.  They were everything they said they were…Smooth, Dreamy,  & Extra Creamy and Triple Chocolate Chip! Definitely the best fudge sickle I can remember ever tasting.   (The other Breyer’s container is ice cream I had bought for our family prior to getting the Smooth & Dreamy to try.)

What more could you want in a frozen chocolate treat? I’ll tell ya…

Only 130 calories per bar and 6 grams of fat…No artificial flavors or colors.  And 4 of you will win yourselves one full value coupon to get you and your family a box of  Smooth & Dreamy goodness.

Though I did share the box of 6 with family of 4…I ate 2 of them myself. No incriminating pics of me though!  Do you want to win one of the 4 full value coupons to try a box of  Smooth & Dreamy for yourself?  Here’s how…

Required to Enter

Go to Breyer’s Smooth & Dreamy website and see what Smooth & Dreamy choices you have to pick from. Then come back here and leave a comment telling me which one you think you’d like to try!  You might want to enter their sweepstakes at that website too.

For Extra Entries … each one counts as a separate entry. Everyone has up to 4 chances to win! You must come back and leave a  separate comment at this post for each thing you’ve done (or are already subscribed, etc ) in order for it to count as an extra entry.

  • Subscribe for my email or RSS email updates here.

Good luck! I’ll be drawing winners via Random.org. Contest begins today July 19th and ends  Wednesday July 28th at 11:59pm! Enter now so you don’t forget later ;) .

*I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Breyers and received products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I will be receiving a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.
