Its getting down to the wire…Christmas in 4 days!

Are you ready? I’m mostly ready…I think I just have some food items to make for a family get-together. And the kid’s gifts to wrap, which reminds me… I thought I had some extra tape and I can’t find it. I may be making a trip outside into the madness for a $1 or $2 roll of tape ;(  Oh well.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle I hope you all find time to relax and enjoy this Christmas season. Time flies by so fast. We’ll never get a second chance at this holiday season.

For us, Christmas is a time to remember and celebrate the fact that about 2000 years ago God sent His only Son to be born in flesh.

Emmanuel, God with us, Jesus.

Jesus, God indeed. 100% man, 100% God.

Why?

Because there was no way that anyone of us, God’s creation, could ever be pure- “there is none righteous, no not one”…We are all sinners, born under the curse of sin the bible tells (Romans).

Jesus (the Christ, Messiah) would have to take on our humanity, live under the Law and fulfill it perfectly.

Then, as the spotless Lamb of God (remember the sacrifices the priests had to do in the Old Testament?) he would be sacrificed on the cross to pay for our sin debt. Because only by the shedding of blood would there be remission of sin. Not just any blood, the blood of a perfect “Lamb”.

What makes Jesus different from Mohammed or Buddha or… (fill in the blank)?

Jesus rose again defeating sin and death and the story isn’t over. He’s coming back.

If you don’t know Jesus, I would love for you to meet him. Its not about religion, its about a relationship.
