Homeschooling preschool

Love. This. Video.

(If you are reading this in email you will need to click through to my blog in order to see the video I share at the bottom of this post.)

I came across this today from another blogger and had to share. And I’ll be honest, before I was put in a position to seriously consider homeschooling my son- I had a very different outlook on homeschooling (more on what I use to think). I may have been a smidge hostile to the idea that it could be better than traditional-classroom education.

I’m telling you- if you haven’t walked a mile or two in another person’s shoes sometimes you really “don’t get it”. And that was me, before.

Me, now? Oh- its like a night and day change (kinda like being “born-again” in the religious sense- but this post isn’t about getting saved). Complete different outlook, changed heart, I’m sold. I’m a homeschooling mom now.  Homeschooling is awesome and I believe it should be a parent’s right to be in charge of their kids education- whether to send to public or educate at home. Not the government‘s.  We are finishing up our first year homeschooling.

I’m not against public schools in general…

I am against a government over-ruling my say as a parent as well as some of the things that public schools teach, for starters.  I’m against a government telling me how to  raise my children and what I must teach my children and (since I’m on a roll here) whether I can spank my children. But that’s another post for another day.

You don’t have to be a Christian to homeschool. But I am one and I believe the following…

You know, the Lord Jesus Christ was given all power in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28: 18) but Satan is still “prince of the power of the air”.

Ephesians 2:1-3 Paul is speaking to believers in Christ here …

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfulling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Friends, the “prince of the power of the air” is weaving his world-view through our world today. Where you ask?

Anything that goes against the sure word of God has its roots in “his-low-ness”, Satan, “prince of the power of the air” (just one of his many titles).

Anyways- back to the video. One note before you watch it. At the very  very end there is a very small clip of a politician (I believe) mentioning homeschoolers. I am not endorsing him.
