easy diy pumpkin coconut butter

Months ago I learned that Artisana is blogger-friendly company. I was planning this party and contacted them to see if they would send me some samples. They kindly sent me individual packets of various nut butters for my guests and one full-size sample of Artisana Coconut Butter. Opinions are my own and I was not paid to write this post and I am using my affiliate links.

Now, I’m a BIG coconut oil user, but this is the first time I’ve owned a jar of coconut butter I believe. It really does taste good, I just haven’t had a reason to need coconut butter. This meant I needed to do some searching for a coconut butter recipe. I found a couple recipes that interested me and I chose this easy DIY pumpkin-coconut butter recipe to try on toast, or whatever else looks like a good fit, to share with you!

I started with this recipe from another blog and then tweaked it to my liking. You may need to do the same, but I’ll share the basic recipe below. I think this would make for a GREAT gift idea for Christmas or just about any other occasion, for those of you looking for homemade gift ideas.

Easy DIY Pumpkin-Coconut Butter

Easy DIY Pumpkin-Coconut Butter

1 cup of pumpkin puree

1 cup of coconut butter

1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg

3 Tablespoons of maple syrup

(I added some pumpkin pie spice and a couple drops of liquid stevia to experiment, but then I felt it needed more sweetener so I went with a little bit more of maple syrup). My advice is to just use what you’re comfortable with and then add more if you need.

Mix everything together in your food processor or simple hand-held blender, like I did. Store in the refrigerator. I’m storing mine in a mason jar. This recipe makes one pint jar full of pumpkin-coconut butter!

*Thanks to Artisana Organics for sending me this coconut butter sample. I got my basic recipe from this blog.
