Cleveland Aquarium review. See our pictures and video.

The new Greater Cleveland Aquarium is the only free-standing aquarium in Ohio and last weekend we got a chance to check it out at a blogger-event.

The aquarium is located in The Flats of Cleveland along the water and boardwalk where the Nautica Queen cruise is located and inside the historic First Energy Powerhouse building. The Nautica Cafe served us (bloggers & families) a breakfast buffet as well. The Nautica Cafe is located inside the First Energy building. If you’re not familiar with this building I want to tell you its a very cool location for this aquarium. Brick walls and halls added a special historic touch to the visit.

The visit takes about an hour and a half and includes a very large touch pool with a variety of water creatures you’re allowed to touch using two fingers: rays, a small shark (I think), and a variety of small critters you’ll see in my video. It is very cool! This was probably my favorite part of the aquarium.

Don’t miss my video below!

You’ll hear and see my 8 yr old announce, in the video, when we are headed into the Weird and Wonderful section. This part of the First Energy Powerhouse building use to be a coal mine tunnel- you can read about it here.

The boys were very excited at various points of the tour- they can be so funny. You’ll hear it…”MOM, DAD!”  And, I can’t help but think some of the alien-type sci-fi movies got their ideas from critters like the horseshoe crab. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the video.

General Admission is $21.95 for adults, $15.95 for kids 2-12, under 2 FREE.  You can also buy a Family Annual Pass for $130 (see other available passes here and events offered like their monthly Toddler Time here). BUT, before you visit those links, enter for a chance to win a 4 pack of tickets from my blog now!

*Disclosure: My family and I received a free visit to the aquarium as part of the blogger event. Thundertech gave us the tickets to giveaway to our readers. One of the other bloggers who lived too far gave me her tickets to giveaway as well. That’s why I can have 2 winners. Opinions are my own.

NOTE: Be sure you READ and FOLLOW my directions! Failure to follow the rules will make your entries disqualified. And we don’t want that to happen!
