We had our first family experience with ice skating recently at the Center Ice Sports Complex in North Canton!
I was… uh… dreading it at least a little bit because its been a long time since I’ve skated and the older I get the more I can tell I’m not 20-something anymore!
This was our boys’ first time on ice skates and they sure took to it better than I expected. In fact, my 8 year old made sure I knew that he wants skating lessons now. He did fall at least a couple times out there and I fell at least once. But that’s because I was hamming it up for a friend’s camera (this was a blogger event). I did get some video you can view (my fall is not on it- ha!) and I wasn’t hurt (even better!).
Enjoy the video below (click here if you can’t see it). You’ll see Megan, the Skate Instructor, taking my son on the ice for circles. And if you want to learn more about the Center Ice Sports Complex and enter for a chance to win 4 tickets for admission to Open Skate … read on!

2nd entry. Still want to take the kids!
daily comment would like to win
Ha! Well, you better stay off the skates 🙂 .
It would be so fun to take the family ice skating and winning the tickets would be great!
Well, I DON’T want o win because I have a bad back so go ahead and delete my comment! However, I’m glad that you all had fun. I was able to ice skate fairly well as a child but I tried it once as an adult and I could barely hold myself up via the railing, lol!
My son is a “hinter”; he keeps telling me “I’ve never been ice skating before…” As much as I’d dread it (I’ve never been before and I am 40 years old) I know it would be a great experience/memory for this homeschooling family 🙂
