One of the perks of being a blogger is the invites we get to experience new things. Our family’s first hockey game came that way last weekend when we got to watch the Lake Erie Monsters play the Charlotte Checkers. We also got to experience the game from the view of the suites with some of my favorite blogging friends from NE Ohio. That made it even better!

Our parking and our game tickets were provided for us by the Q-Arena via Flash Seats, which was something very new to me (just swipe the card you registered with on Flash Seats when you get to the Q – no tickets to print).

Unfortunately, and I share this to help you not make the same mistake… we parked in the wrong parking garage which happened to be connected to the casino and the Q. Our parking was NOT free here and we had to pay $25!!!!  It was a mistake the Q couldn’t reverse for us so we had to pay that (waaaaaa!). But the Q gave us $10 in food vouchers to help ease the pain.

Lesson here? Don’t assume you will find the right parking garage before you leave town. Look it up online first and know the street!

But all in all, we were treated great by the Q and it was a good experience!

They had a mini fridge stocked with pop and water and juice for the kids, a variety of chips and dips and some popcorn for us to snack on and Jeff took us on a tour of the main area where there was face painting, hair painting, sign making and more for the fans. It was also piggy-bank night and we all got free Monsters Piggy Banks.

The suite was filled with our four blogging families – eight parents and 10 kiddos.  The suites are open-air with theater-like seating and have a room connected with tvs, private bathroom, a couch and chairs, bar stools, closet and kitchen necessities for snacks and drinks.  A big thank you to the Q and the Lake Erie Monsters for inviting us to a game!
